Today is the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests in Beijing, when university students demonstrated against China’s political corruption and authoritarianism. The Chinese military cracked down with force. Photographs of the “Tank Man,” a lone guy with shopping bags who stood in the way of an advancing line of tanks, became the symbol of the protests for the rest of the world (it’s largely unfamiliar to Chinese, because it’s been censored).
The video is in Chinese, so turn down the volume and just feel it…

In Buddhism, it is called non-attachment. When you’re not attached to any one particular outcome. When you realize that, sometimes, what you really wanted turns out looking different than what you envisioned. The shadows come in many forms. The one job that you have to get, the certain features your future wife/husband have to have… What do your shadows look like? Happiness comes when we let go of these material desires and enjoy every experience that comes into our lives, knowing that it’s exactly the experience that we’re meant to be experiencing. If that makes sense?

So, you either know Trevor Andrew aka “Trouble Andrew” because you snowboard, since he is pro for burton or because he’s Santigold’s boyfriend. Either way he’s keepin’ it funky 80′s style. We couldn’t tell, for the longest time, wether the video was new old a blast from the past. They keep it real with the vintage skateboards, wayfarers and gold chains.
